About YetiKat

Clean kitty,
clean owner,
clean house

The world’s only and real cat table with variable-height seats, thus it is excellent from tiny kitten age up until adult cat age. In addition to this, the seats not only have variable-heights, but they can be slipped under the table top as well, this way ensuring that they will not be in our way, they won’t obstruct everyday human traffic if the table is placed into narrow spaces. Also, if the room is under cleaning, the seats are easy to move out of the way and people can move more comfortably near the furniture.

The miracle:

  • Cats go crazy about it;
  • 100% of the test population use it. /for details see below: Education chapter/ If we do not provide as many seats/places for the test animals as many would like to eat, they fight for the free seats;
  • for some mysterious reason they really love eating on it. According to some theories this phenomenon is in connection with the comfortability of chewing and swallowing the food, and/or with establishing their private area during eating, which is almost impossible to achieve with the old traditional type of feeding on the floor;
  • it has been proved many times in the control group that if we put feed on the floor in two large bowls, hardly 10–20% of them were willing to eat from the floor, all other cats jumped up on one of the seats near the cat table and looked down on the floor dumbly, reluctantly and looked at the owner like “we want our food here in in our plate, we won’t eat from the floor!”;
  • A further advantage both for the owner and for the kitty that because of the proper way of sitting and the limited size of the seat, cats will remain in one place – they will become literally “soil-bound” – they will pay attention only to their own plate, they won’t steal from others plate, and they won’t check minute after minute whether the other cats got the same food. Of course this lasts only until their own plates become empty, after that they will show interest towards others’ plates too. The supervision and harshness of the owner is necessary to avoid this, but this is not a burden, since:

They are so fluffy
we’re gonna die!

When a few days later our cats get used to and use the table, every feeding – whether it is breakfast or dinner – becomes a séance with the owner, since day after day one cannot see it enough times how cute kitties are, when they are eating nice and disciplined, with straight backs almost, not hunched, and not on the filthy floor but by the table!

Inimitable and unique advantages;

since it is the one and only such product in the world:

Hygiene and comfort:

  • Cats do not eat sitting on the floor, from the floor, or from near the floor. A real YetiKat user cat is sophisticated, skilful and clever;
  • Owners do not need to lean down, put and pick up the cats’ feed from the floor. They do not need to clean the floor around the cats’ plate (this is expressly advantageous for elderly people, they can feed their pets take the plates off, and clean the table with easy movements without leaning down) Cats provide comfort by that they jump up and sit on the seat, in the height necessary for the owner’s comfort. (see below; adjusting the proper seat height chapter);
  • It is not necessary for the cats to know the table from a young age, all aged cats learn to use it;
  • Due to variable seat-height, these tables can be used for both the tiniest kittens and the adult, big, tall ones as well.

Quality, features:

  • wonderful, durable, qualitative beech hardwood;
  • made from „A” quality, furniture quality steamed solid beech wood.
  • (It is made of solid wood, not made of waste wood, for example plywood and others... Natural patterns, color variations, wood defects of beech may be visible under the stain and lacquer. This is why the solid wood is so beautiful! And one of the reason we use solid wood instead of plywood and similar.)

Development:

In the past 5 years from the birth of the own idea of the boss, namely the CEO and Founder Yeti kitten, the present structure was born after 9 prototypes. This meant enormous engineering challenge. This long time signals the demandingness, since we did not regret the time; experience time, observational time, and the newer and newer designing time carefully planned by engineers. Plans, size modifications and load calculations changed according to what the cat showed and revealed for us during usage.

During this time, all prototypes were used by at least 20 cats continuously, and constant modifications were completed under these patient observations, providing that the most perfect make would be delivered to the other demanding clean kitties.

The structure is flexible, it bears, leads and absorbs the load and impact caused by the cat jumping up on it due to its flexibility. This flexibility factor is just as important like when a bridge is designed to be flexible and not rigid, because otherwise it would simply collapse.

Note: since a cat is able to sleep on a hanger, climb on thin branches, balance on narrow fences, the flexibility of the cat table does not bother them at all. As soon as the cat sits down, starts eating, thanks to friction factors and power effects, the structure gets steady and becomes almost motionless.

This construction was created due to this recognition and experience, and the Christmas advertisement video was shot with these products too.

Education:

Will my kitty use it?

Answer:

Take it easy, cats are smarter than anyone would think!

During the product development period 25 cats got to enjoy and used this product. The result is 100 %

The answer briefly:

the majority of cats jump up on the seats to eat, or you put them on it. It is as if they were born to do so, they jump up and eat. That’s it. There are no tricks, and there is no magic in the case of those cats that trust their owners to 100 %, they are neither suspicious nor afraid because of any earlier ways of life, thus they are obedient and well-balanced.

How should I put my cat on it, how is she supposed to jump up, how should I train her?

The answer in detail;

we are going to help you in the training with an educational video soon to be published, which will be made primarily for more afraid more mistrustful kitties. Because those cats who live in harmony with their owners, and trust their owners, they are going to start using the cat table automatically and immediately.

At the time of the first prototype we thought that the learning process will last for a longer period of time. At that time we were examining whether the cat would be willing to eat by the table at all. Well, we were quite surprised that the first four kitties immediately jumped up and started eating. We though that it would take some time for the others. Well, it did not. On the second day all cats were eating at the table. Only one – the Bengal Cat – decided not to do so. We left it on her. However the existing phenomenon of mimesis came into being, she just simply realized that all other cats were eating at the table and thus, she started using the furniture herself too. And now...he loves the YetiKat soo much, see pictures upper and below.

See the details below; at Mimesis chapter.

Finally the Bengal cat loves to eat on YetiKat.

The steps of education:

The most important rule is that you have to know your cat! If she is shy, do not be overbearing with her, do not frighten her, and don’t scare her from the table by being too fierce. Don’t want it to happen immediately!

We often watch such videos in shock where the owner makes a so called “unboxing” video (which would not be a bad thing at all), he/she opens the box which contains a furniture ordered for the cat, assembles it, then starts annoyingly browbeating the cat; like “here you are, use it, here it is, it’s yours, be cute, lay on it finally!”...and so on. Those who do things like this do not know their pet at all. If there’s one thing that cats do not like it is that when she must do something not according to her own tempo, will and period of time! Such owners who are violent in everything else as well, usually have antisocial cats, which are rarely kind, and do not obey, and when a stranger comes to the house the cat disappears for good, or behaves aggressively.

So the recommended steps are the following:

  • Step behind the twosome table, or in front of the foursome one, show her the plate full of feed, let her smell the feed, and invite her up on the seat with it, then put the plate into the hole. If the cat knows the voice of the dry feed well, and reacts to this sound with a Pavlov reflex, you should shake the feed in the plate. Or scatter some more into the plate to make her jump up for it;
  • The same is true if she knows the sound of the canned feed, or you usually pick the feed out with a fork, or the clanking sound of the aluminium foil cat food bag. You should pick the feed from the can into the plate on the table, or shake the aluminium foil bag and push some into the plate.
  • If trust between you two is complete, you can leave out the call for feeding altogether, just lift the kitty and put it on the seat, but be careful not to out her down in front of the plate, because she might get frightened, she will experience it for the first time that something is against her chest (the side of the table). You should put the cat on the seat sideways, parallel to the table, but show her, or shake the feed for her immediately in order for her to see in which direction she should turn suddenly.
  • If she does not sit down on the seat immediately, do not worry, some cats need time for that. You can however take care of the proper adjustment of the seat-height. But do not do this when the kitty is eating, no matter if she is standing, or in a strange posture... wait until next time! The first positive experience is the most significant for a cat.

If the seat-height is properly adjusted the cat will sit down!

Proper seat-height:

According to our observations the seat is properly adjusted if the side of the table is at the middle of the cat’s chest or a little lover. And they have to reach the further side of the plate. You established the proper height when the cat sits down by itself, because she feels that it is comfortable. Sitting down also takes time, this time is different for every cat. But we must note here in connection with height that for those cats who have used YetiKat table for a long time permanently do not care at all how high seat they must sit on, they will eat by the table anyways. If they can hardly reach their plate, they are going to stretch their neck, and if the seat is too high, they will bend down for the feed. Of course the right height – which is spectacular for human eyes - is when the cat sits straight nicely and bends down to the plate only mildly. One need to evolve this too, this is the end result!

In case you have a mistrustful kitty, simply show every time where you put the feed, and be consequential, do not feed them elsewhere, do not put the feed down on the floor for them! Because:

“a hungry cat will eat, won’t hesitate!”

Do not feel sorry for her, do not give up!

Here the question might arouse, whether to take the plate away from them or not. In case of a mistrustful kitty you MUST NEVER do that! Leave it there, when you are not present she will discover the table in her own tempo, and she will jump up for the food. You should leave this to her, so that she can have a positive experience of the table. Put the feed on the table in every occasion.

Here it might happen that she moves onto the top of the table and she will eat form there. You must train her not to do so gradually, and put her on the seat in the above described way, and strengthen the feeling in her that this is the proper way, that she should do it like this. Compliment her, pet her, and put another portion in her plate at the same time for positive reinforcement.

“But the most important thing is that you must not feed her anywhere else from this time on! Do not feel sorry for her! Should she begin a strike, or not eat for days, she won’t be harmed! But this is almost out of the question.

Food is everything, food is your weapon now, and there is no place for opportunism and feeding on the floor out of regret!”

Mimesis:

Based on the example mentioned above, that is the Bengal kitty became a YetiKat table user through the method of mimesis. It was probably because of her hard experiences – namely she was disappointed in 3 owners before she was taken into our care, all of them gave up on her, so she had to move always – that she developed such a personality that although she is kind and cuddly, and she sleeps with us and purrs, but according to her comprehension there is no such thing that someone tells her where she should be, what she should do, where she should sit... Or that someone would take her up into his/her lap against her own will.

She just simply started to join the others, jumped on the seat, and started eating with the others at the table. Mimesis, like a thing based on observation, meant to create trust, is your final weapon, but it is really rare that you need to resort to this.

She started to eat on YetiKat by herself.

We needed to utilize this again years later, though I did not planned... When we were making our Christmas video, we had a newly rescued young kitty who has never eaten from the table, and never encountered it before.

This kitty was rescued at a very early age, she was in a suffocating stance because she had both pleural inflammation and pneumonia at the same time. She was wild, she bit, and she did not know humans. It did not help either that the first phase of her relationship with people was that we took her to the vet every day to get injection. She got well, the time of quarantine ended, her wildness disappeared, a basic trust was established between us, and so she could go in where the other cats were.

This was the time when we were shooting the Christmas video, when she was behaving disorderly day by day, and she was living and playing around the assembled 16 seat table row. The feeding went on two times a day on the tables besides shooting the video too. A few days after the making of the video, one morning we saw that she jumped up on one of the seats and started eating... we made picture and a video of this too... Although she could hardly reach the table, it was hard for her to eat, but she did everything like the big ones.

She has been eating the same way with the others ever so, and we can admit that we never taught her for a minute, this yes;

She hardly reach the plate... but she doesn't care...

...mimesis does work!

The only “aftercare” or “after education” that is necessary in case of this little kitten is that sometimes she tends to eat from the top of the table instead of sitting on the seat, in these cases we must put her down on the seat gently, show her the food, and she continues eating orderly...

...the way it is expectable from a real YetiKat user clean kitty!

Plates:

Plastic plates are perfect for the time of the education period, if the owner worries and this can tranquilize her/him. But one can use the ceramic plates as well – especially because of the heavier weight of these – they can be left in the table for days, cats cannot and do not want to move them. Sometimes they jump up during the day and check whether there is some food in them, but then they move on and they do not play around with the plates.

According to our experiences the plastic plates are good for both dry and wet feed as well. But they are best for dry feed.

The ceramic plates are also good for both types, but they are better for wet feed like milk, cat milk and water.

Plastic plates are also good for liquids but they can take less amount of them.

Supervision before feeding:

Before feeding it is recommended to check always that the seats are opened to the stop. Because if cats are jumping and walking on them during the day, or if they quarrel over a seat, they might be able to close the seat. For example cats are going to learn that they must jump ON the seat, because that way thanks to the U shape that is under the seat, it will tighten on the console immediately, due to the cat’s weight. They learn that they should not jump INTO the seat. Rattlebrained cats tend to do that during the education period, out of the joy of feeding, that they literally run against the table, thus they jump against the side of the table or the seat and they simply close the seat under the table, and that’s it... and while they are watching dumbly like “where is my seat, and how am I going to eat now?” Do not worry! Cats are NOT stupid indeed!!!! They are going to figure this out as well!!!!
